Common questions

Do I need to buy special cameras or new hardware?
No. ParkingLens works with the outdoor security cameras your property already has — IP cameras, NVR systems, or basic webcams. There is no new hardware to purchase or install.
What kinds of properties does ParkingLens work for?
ParkingLens is designed for open lots: strip malls, medical and dental plazas, office parks, apartment complexes, and similar properties where parking is shared and surface-level.
How does ParkingLens detect overstays?
Our computer vision system analyzes your existing camera feeds continuously. It tracks each vehicle in each space, starts timing from arrival, and automatically flags any vehicle that exceeds your configured time limit.
What happens when a violation is detected?
You receive an alert with the vehicle details and footage. You decide what to do: issue a warning, contact a tow company, or log it for your records. For high-volume lots, you can set rules to trigger enforcement automatically.
How is ParkingLens different from LPR (license plate reader) cameras?
LPR cameras log when vehicles pass a fixed point. They can't tell you that a specific car has been sitting in spot 8 since 9am, someone still has to query the system manually. ParkingLens monitors continuously by space, so overstays are detected automatically without any manual lookup.
How does the cost compare to hiring a mobile patrol?
ParkingLens is significantly cheaper than mobile patrol and watches continuously, not just at the moment a patrol happens to drive through.
